High school and college prep programs basically focus on the academic transition to college.
Now it’s time to start thinking about the social and emotional transition and what skills you will need to become self-sufficient and successful in college.
For most young adults, college is a MAJOR life change that can affect a student in many ways.
Such as:
- Physically
- Emotionally
- Mentally
- Spiritually
For many, this is the FIRST TIME they have become truly independent.
From:
- living in dorms
- managing schedules
- communicating with professors
- taking care of basic needs
- making medical appointments
- finishing homework with no reminders
- staying motivated
This HUGE change feels unmanageable at times.
